Dean Noble's Museum Ventures

The Dean Noble Zone.

Dean Noble Day at the Dawson Creek Museum

This is the music video of my trip to the Dawson Creek Museum in April 2007. I will be going to museums and other places in the future to make more videos.

http://noblezone.blogspot.com/2007/04/trip-to-dawson-creek-museum.html

Smashmash is the best thing that I ran into for a long time. Heck, last week if you were to tell me that one week later, I would be doing video talkies with computer engineering effects that 10 years ago could only be done in a studio, I would tell you that I don't believe it.

Soundtrack:

Aerosmith, Sweet Emotion

Englebert Humperdinck, After The Loving

The Capitols, Cool Jerk

Aerosmith, Dream On

The Romantics, Talking In Your Sleep

Redbone, Come And Get Your Love

Steely Dan, I Got The News

Brooke Valentine, Boogie No More

Naked Eyes, Promises Promises

Museum Ventures

This is my first official episode of Dean Noble's Museum Ventures as I have figured out a name for my series of museum documentaries. Hopefully, I will have a chance to visit the Royal British Columbia Museum in Victoria, the HR Macmillian Museum and Planetarium in Vancouver, the British Museum in London, and finally, the greatest and largest museum on this planet, the Smithsonian Museum in Washington, DC.

This is my televisual extravaganza set in the small town of Pouce Coupe, British Columbia. The video is about my trip to the Pouce Coupe Museum. Remember the movie, Night At The Museum?

http://noblezone.blogspot.com/2007/05/trip-to-pouce-coupe-museum.html

Night At The Museum 2 with Ben Affleck will be released on May 22, 2008.

POLICE BLOTTER 23

The Dean Noble Zone.

________________________________________________________

POLICE BLOTTER 23

The following story is a work of fiction. Any similarities to any persons living or dead is unintentional.

Chapter 1

After a long search which turned out disappointing, the Police were deciding to scale down the search. The exterior searchers combing a radius of the farthest point the missing person may have gone to and working inwards were told to stop.
Dogs were present all through the countryside but it turned out to be a passing motorist who spotted the cadaver lying prone near the riverbank.
It was the worst outcome to five days which were a nightmare for the small town which was a distant suburb of St John's, Newfoundland. That was how long ago a 12 year old girl, Cassie Beaudoin disappeared after walking off from her parents after an argument. In any event, that was the story given to the Police and the Press.
The RCMP along with the St John's Newfoundland Police were on the case. There was the expected interview with the parents when they were brought in for questioning. Only those facial expression recognition experts and psychics in the television audience nationwide in Canada knew that the tears were forced and fake. The husband looked guiltily stoic.
A day later into the case, the parents themselves, Kirk and Anne Beaudoin were brought in for questioning, but released. There were two other persons of interest brought in for questioning, but they were also released.
A Newfoundland Magistrate stoicly issued the Police a Search Warrant and armed with that, as well as a few handguns and pump action rifles, they went to the parents house. After a few days of thorough forensic investigation, they got enough evidence to arrest the suspects. There was also the neighbour interviewed on television who said that the couple was arguing loudly into the night. What he did not say was what words were used in the argument which was part of Police evidence and could not be divulged on the television.
The arrest was based on CSIS evidence. CSIS is now using invisible holographic technology. They made a camera that is a holograph*, that is, it has no form. A remote control resets its molecular frequency so that it is solid and visible again. Of course an invisible camera would need a solid mirror to catch and reflect light, a camera would be a physical impossibility in this dimension without it. It does have a mirror or lens but it is a very tiny one, impossible to see and would otherwise look like a tiny bead of broken glass, that is if anyone would notice it because it is almost invisible to the naked eye.
Also, when the Police were taking the parents away to the Police station for the first time, not for Police questioning, but for a Press conference with the media, oddly enough, scheduled at the Police station, an RCMP Officer secretly taped what looks like a very small piece of whisper white tape, the same colour as the walls, but was really a tiny microphone.

chapter 2

RCMP Detective Chris Hines and his wife, Royal Mounted Canadian Police Constable Melissa Hines had heard this story in bits and pieces. Chris Hines heard some parts of the story, and Melissa Hines heard other parts of the story and this they shared with each other in addition to what husbands and wives usually share with each other which is their respective bodily fluids.
They were driving over the Granville Street Bridge, Southbound while on assignment in Vancouver, British Columbia when the call came in over the dispatch radio. After the volley of numbers which sounded like an auction or a game of bingo, a mysterious cosmic language that only the Police understood, the male dispatcher on the other end of the line said that there was a huge fire and that there was a young male who had self admitted himself to the emergency ward with third degree burns to 40% of his body ten minutes ago. There were no other people with burns and the fire was just a block away.
In 1988, at approximately the same location a business called Dynamite Pizza suffered a gas explosion. The pilot light for the pizza oven was not on and the propane gas was not fully turned off and the flammable gas tank, which was in effect what the building was, became a literal bomb.
Anyone who knows Vancouver knows that Vancouver General Hospital is on a hill that is visible to Southbound traffic on the Granville Street Bridge. Indeed when the Officers saw the huge plume of smoke now forming itself alarmingly and menacingly over the city, they knew that this was the truth.

chapter 3

Reports came in small pieces over the next 24 hours. It turns out that the parents of that 12 year old girl, Kirk and Anne Beaudoin were indeed a contributing factor to that girls death to the extent that if they were not in the picture at all, that girl would still be alive.
The neighbours heard the details that night during the verbal argument. The couple were drinking whisky, smoking crack, and they referred to the deceased girl as a slut. They were upset with the much older man, 18 she was visiting regularly. They knew that she planned to, as soon as she reached 14, which is the legal age of consent in Canada.
It is a little more complicated than that in Canada. The 1984 Badgely Report on the Sexual Exploitation of Children, the age of sexual consent was 12 up until 1890 when it was raised to 14.* The strict prohibition to girls under 14 not married to the accused was retained. And if the accused was more than two years apart from the age of the girl.
Later on, the Law stated that it intended to have this prohibition to guard against sexual exploitation and did not apply if the girl in question was of previously unchaste character.
Also there was an allowance if there was a promise of marriage made to the girl.
At no point did the Law actually impose a strict ban on sexual intercourse with girls over 14.
The couple fought and in the conversation, it was disclosed that out of anger, they beat the girl. Martial arts teaches about pressure points and the couple inadvertently hit a few of the Cassie Beaudoin's vital pressure meridians in her body. Not good. The one that really did it was the subdural hematoma to the side of the head. After the beating in the apartment where she died, they moved the body to the riverbank. The car drove a long way, farther than the extent of the most optimistic of external source searchers. They wanted to make it look like she wandered away from the mall after an argument walking all the way to the woods and succumbed to hypothermia because there was an arctic cold front that month and average temperatures all across Canada were minus 40 degrees Celsius. Brrrrr.
The Police made the arrest based on cadaver dogs discovering the little girl's death scent in the apartment. Also, no one at the mall remembers seeing the three of them there that day.

chapter 4

RCMP Constable Melissa Hines was there at the hospital. She was there for a two hour watch shift, sitting vigilantly outside the door of the now celebrity burn victim whose name was, interestingly, Arthur Burns. The case was basically closed. It was only waiting for the victm to recover so that an arrest could be made.
The business that was burned was a Mexican restaurant. Not that the owners Rick and Nanette Parsons were Mexican. They just wanted to open a restaurant. However, as of late, they were harassed and threatened for money from gangs. The story is a little more intricate than that. The wife loved the business, but the husband even though he loved his wife dearly thought the business was hopeless. He decided to hire people to burn down the restaurant as part of an elaborate fire insurance scam. However, he did not want his wife to know about this so he concocted a play act of threats that these arsonists would also make to him and his wife. The husband wanted to move a bunch of expensive fixtures as well as a bunch of expensive money, diverting it to another place which he had been doing for a week before the fire. He could not do this without his wife asking him what he was doing hence the threats to explain that these moves were in response to the threats.

chapter 5

After her shift at the hospital at which point another Officer replaced her, RCMP Constable Melissa Hines joined her husband on the sea to sky highway. This is a highway that sits perched above Vancouver proper and climbs up jutting mountainsides with million dollar Westcoast luxury real estate homes clinging to the rocks.
There was a body found at the riverbank at the ravine just below the highway. Other than that she was found supine, that is face up, she was in exactly the same position and place, next to a river, that the 12 year old girl in Newfoundland was found.
There was a note found on her body which fully elucidated her despair at the death of Cassie Beaudoin who was her daughter that she lost custody to in a bitter divorce years ago. Also with the death threats and then the arson, it was all too much for her. She died a very British Columbian death, the same way that the wife of the Architect Francis Rattenbury did. Alma Rattenbury died, heartbroken, she went to the edge of a river and plunged a knife into her heart and then she threw herself into a river.
Anne Parsons likewise plunged a knife into her own heart causing sudden acute cardiac arhythmia, threw herself into the river, and then the water washed her up on the shore where the Police found her. A passing RCMP squad car saw a lone Toyota at the side of the road at 5:30 in the morning with the door open and interior lights on. The engine was not running.

The couple, RCMP Constable Chris Hines and his wife then drove fast to the Vancouver General Hospital to Room 8G which he shared with three other patients. The two cops walked briskly and angrily through the hospital room and said to the patient who was having a hospital meal on a segmented plastic pannikin.

"The wife of the owner of that place you torched just committed suicide. You are under arrest for arson and also for being an accessory to murder. Looks like you really fucked up, this time."

Painted into a corner

It seems that I wrote the kind of stories that I can not make movies out of. And now that I am a movie maker. I wrote Police stories. In order for me to make Police movies which I could do, technically, legally it would be a different matter. I mean, part of the RCMP lie detector exam for anyone wanting to be a cop includes the question, "Have you ever impersonated a police officer even in fun?"

This is a bit of a serious thing. Strange magic. I know that I do not have the vibes to convincingly portray a Police Officer. And for me to ask someone else to dress up as a cop, that is something that could affect them if they decided they wanted to be a police officer in the future. And what would cops think of anyone who asks other people to dress up as cops so that they could make movies about the police?

I am going to make movies about the Dr Cerebus Amidala stories, The Cover Version of Stephen King's The Running Man, although part of that will be filmed in Canada and part of that will be filmed in Thailand. William Claymore, Your Mother and others.

Dawson Creek Winter Effects

The Dean Noble Zone.

Dawson Creek Winter Effects

Dawson Creek Winter Effects

Using the www.smashmash.tv website, after some trials at the controls, I have conjured up a movie with what I hope is a Christmas feel. I spent a lot of time trying to capture the Christmas Winter spirit with the images appearing not too fast and not to slow with a slight but not too much of a rotation and with a slight touch of the softening of the background effects. The effects images include the Alaska Hotel in Dawson Creek as well as a pompom covered snowflake.

Jingle Bell Rock is also the song that was used for the beginning of Lethal Weapon.

I will be coming up with more of these videos. I am going to try to include sound with some of these videos.

All videos, writings, photos, illustrations copyright Dean Noble.

The Dancing Alaska Hotel

As you can see, this hotel sometimes gets quite animated. I thought that Gary Wright, Dreamweaver would be appropriate music for this video.
